What was your favorite moment of the production and why?
My favorite part of the play was the end. After the main character Lucy (also known as Nina , Emma and Sarah) reenacted how a conversation between herself and her parents could go in rehab she was sent home after recovering and had to face them in real life. The situation was exactly the opposite of what we saw during her rehab classes with her father being withdrawn and distant and her mother being cold and harsh as she accurately described. I liked this because we someone who was always seen to be in control even when finding explanations of why she was an addict become completely out of control when confronted by her parents about the reality of her life choices. This scene was a good contrast to the characters she had shown throughout the rest of the play.

Lucy - played by Denise Gough. She played her character perfectly from the comedic timing , to the long drawn out intelligent explanations to the outburst of rage and sadness about her brothers death. She made it effortless to connect with her and sympathize with her past story/stories despite at times she was portrayed as the villain , when it came to the group meetings.
How did the production values affect your interpretation of the production?
The simplicity of the set was good for various reasons. It wasn't too much , with a few props like , desks , chairs and a bed. It allowed us to focus mostly on the brilliant acting rather than be distracted by an over complicated and unneeded. However the set was in such away that the projections shown on it were stunning. The plain white walls were quickly transformed into moving imagery of fast rapid moving colors and animation of DJ's and shadows dancing in the club. Also the speed in which they transitioned from scene to scene helped create realism as it didn't feel like we were watching a play but rather the adrenaline filled life of an addict. It made it scarily realistic , from the chaos of the party scene and effects of the drugs on Lucy to the dramatic end confrontation with her parents and the shocking reveal of her real name.

Which practitioners have influenced this production?
They incorporated Brecht techniques such as
'Breaking the 4th wall'
This was shown often when Lucy spoke to the audience directly , often swearing or insulting someone.
